Deaf News: National Theatre makes talks with the stars accessible

Posted on June 27, 2012 by

If you’ve ever wanted to find out how some of Britain’s biggest stars approach their roles, then you’re in luck, because the National Theatre (who support this site) are making their “In Conversation” series accessible to deaf and hard of hearing people using speech-to-text.

Speech-to-text (provided by STAGETEXT) gives you access to every word the actors say, as they say them, so you won’t miss anything! The actors being interviewed are Julie Walters, Rory Kinnear, Helen McCrory, Christopher Eccleston and Simon Russell Beale, all of whom are also appearing in captioned performances at the National Theatre.

All the interviews take place in the afternoon, with the actors talking to Al Senter about their current role and career, plus answering your questions. Tickets are £5/£4, and early booking is recommended.

To book, email: boxoffice@nationaltheatre.org.uk or telephone: 020 7452 3000
