Deafinitions: ‘Deafferent’

Deafinition:

Often confused with ‘different’ (a word meaning ‘unlike, seperate, unusual, not the same‘).

The word ‘deafferent’, when used to refer to individuals or groups of people, actually means ‘exactly the same as you, only Deaf”.

NB: Being deafferent is not remotely associated with being ‘deferent’, a state of passive submission and courteous regard not automatically associated with the deafies…
