In one of the more bizarre stories featuring a deaf person that we here at Limping Chicken have ever, er, heard, NBC Connecticut has reported how an American hard of hearing man was arrested after asking a prostitute to speak up during a negotiation.

According to the website, Michael Carrier, 45, was arrested on the 11th August, after asking a woman in a restaurant “to speak loudly because he had trouble hearing.” The conversation became so loud that other customers heard them and realised they were negotiating a transaction. They then called 911.
