This Friday, the Unicorn Theatre presents their first one man show featuring fully integrated sign language for young Deaf audiences  with Tim Crouch’s I, Malvolio.

This brilliant one-man show, suitable for those who are aged 13 or over, re-imagines Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night for today’s audience and invites the audience to explore self-knowledge, bullying and shame through one of Shakespeare’s greatest underdogs, Malvolio.

Tim Crouch is one of Britain’s most unusual and innovative theatre-makers, constantly pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved through performance. He has worked extensively with BSL interpreter Sue Maclaine to create an integrated sign language performance that fully integrates the interpreter into the production.

I, Malvolio is the fourth of Crouch’s solo Shakespeare plays for family and younger audiences aged 13+ and it runs at the Unicorn until 11 November.

The Unicorn is the UK’s theatre for audiences aged 2-21, serving over 50,000 children, young people and families every year through its professional performances, participation and other events.  The theatre features work from leading writers and world class theatre makers.  It is dedicated to creating vital, exciting and accessible work that speaks to both adults and children about who we are and how we live today.
