This interview was originally shown at Deaffest, the UK’s top deaf film festival. Richard Griffiths died in March 2013, was the son of deaf parents, world-famous actor and patron of Deaffest. In this wide-ranging interview, he talks about his life, his parents and has wise words for aspiring deaf film makers.

Fantastic interview! Richard signed very good – old fashion but I love his signing! Wow, he didn’t forget the signs! I’m saddened he passed away this year! If we approach him in the past, he could have help us directing the right way….who knows! God Bless you, Richard!

That was a lovely interview, I agree with Simeon about the fascination of Richard’s older style signing – his comprehension seemed great and it must be many many years since he last used it.
