The Eastern Daily Press has reported that the Deaf man from Norwich had an interpreter for his father’s funeral today after an incredible response to their story.

David, of St Pauls Close, Hellesdon, appealed yesterday for an interpreter or expert in sign language to help translate for him at his father’s funeral today.
He approached us after being told there were not any interpreters available locally to help him.
After our appeal, we received more than 30 emails from readers giving us help and information about individuals and organisations to contact.
The story was also shared more than 150 times on social media.
Thanks to your efforts, we were able to find an interpreter who was willing to help David free of charge.

A good outcome but no deaf person should ever be put in the position of having to effectively go begging for an interpreter in the local paper because of a National shortage of registered interpreters and services to support deaf people cut to the bone by austerity cuts.
