Posted on June 18, 2015 by

Here’s a powerful and articulate speech from the Artistic Director of Graeae Theatre Company and co-director of the Paralympics Opening Ceremony, Jenny Sealey.

In it, she focuses on the effect of cuts to Access to Work and the Independent Living Fund on many of the Deaf and disabled performers she knows.

She also says this:

“I am very curious to know why Deaf and disabled people are considered second-class citizens, why we are ghettoised, discriminated against and deemed worthless.”
