Watch: European Union of the Deaf’s video saying “social position of UK Deaf people might worsen after Brexit”

Posted on July 1, 2016 by

The European Union of the Deaf have released a video following the news that Britain has voted to leave the European Union.

The video is signed in International Sign and also has subtitles. The text posted with their video says:

Like many Europeans, the EUD woke up last Friday to the news that the majority of the UK’s people had expressed the wish for their country to leave the European Union (EU). We respect the right of the people to exercise the right to vote that they had been granted. We are very saddened and very much regret this decision as we are deeply concerned that the social position of UK Deaf and hard of hearing people might worsen in the aftermath of the “Brexit”.
