Watch: The story of the Deaf boy who escaped ISIS and needs a better education (via Channel 4 News)

Posted on September 13, 2016 by

Channel 4 News has released an insightful video about Lawand, a Deaf boy  from Iraq who is a refugee. His family spent months trying to come to the UK to give Lawand a chance at being able to communicate.

The video is fully subtitled and shows Lawand at the Royal School for the Deaf, Derby, interacting with Deaf children there and being assessed for future communication support.

However, there is no guarantee that his family will be able to stay in the UK.

Watch the video below (if it does not appear, click here to view directly on Facebook).
