Deaf News: US theatre delays production of Tribes until Deaf actors can be found

A week ago, we reported on a controversial situation in America, when the play Tribes was cast with hearing actors playing Deaf roles.

Now Omaha.com has reported that following a public forum, the theatre has backed down, and production of the play has been delayed until Deaf actors can be found.

Howard Sherman, who is the interim director of America’s Alliance for Inclusion in the Arts had written a blog post arguing against the casting.
