Deaf News: Deaf autistic schoolboy left alone on school bus and driven back to depot

Posted on April 10, 2017 by

The Mail has reported a shocking story about a deaf boy who was left alone on a school bus and driven back to a depot, with his absence only being realised when he hadn’t turned up for a swimming lesson.

Even worse, this wasn’t the first time this had occurred.

Extract:

A deaf boy was left alone on a school bus and driven back to the depot twice when teachers didn’t realise he was still on board.

Reuben Lewis, 10, who is also autistic, stayed on the bus because no one told him to get off.

He was driven 45 minutes from his school without teachers or transport staff realising he was still on board.
