Watch: The BSL Zone’s black comedy Signs of an Affair!

Posted on April 28, 2017 by

The BSL Zone’s newest programme is Signs of an Affair, a black comedy which is hilarious, and stars Jean St Clair and Ilan Dwek.

It’s all about a woman who suspects her husband is having an affair behind her back, and the storyline has several twists and turns, with a surprise ending (I won’t say any more as I don’t want to spoil it!).

The script was also written by Jean St Clair (who must need a good rest after doing two jobs on it!) and directed by Louis Neethling.

The stand out moment for me was seeing a hearing character sign the word ‘understand’ wrongly – this made me laugh out loud. There’s also a very funny duo who appear later in the drama who are perfectly cast.

But the best thing of all is seeing St Clair’s character gradually becoming more paranoid about what her husband is up to.

Signs of an Affair also stands out as it features good use of a direct-to-camera filming technique which acts as a kind of voiceover/monologue throughout the story.
