There is a discussion coming up next week at Edinburgh International Film Festival about getting a bigger platform for D/deaf and disabled filmmakers’ work, with this site’s editor Charlie Swinbourne moderating one of the discussions.

Join this lively inclusive discussion with leading D/deaf and disabled filmmakers, festival programmers and strategists for a series of conversations about what festival programmes and all filmmakers can do to get their films in front of audiences. BSL translation (including roving translators for networking sessions and breaks), live subtitling via speech-to-text and fully accessible venue.
