Deaf News: National BSL plan released in Scotland

A new plan for British Sign Language in Scotland has been released today, aimed at making a difference for Deaf and deafblind people in the country.

This plan covers the Scottish Government and over 50 national public bodies that Scottish Ministers have responsibility for. Other public bodies, including local authorities, regional NHS boards, colleges and universities will publish their own plans by October 2018.

The plan sets out 10 long-term aims for BSL in Scotland, in areas such as access to public services in BSL, the use of BSL in education, qualifications in BSL, access to healthcare and mental health services in BSL, interpreting, and many more.
