Watch: Owen Jones meets Rafal Senk, a Deaf homeless man from Poland (subtitles)

Posted on January 4, 2018 by

The Guardian writer Owen Jones has released a video of him meeting a Deaf homeless man from Poland called Rafal Senk, finding out about life on the streets and the help he has received from a charity, to now live in his own home. He also talks about his hopes for the future.

The information below the video says:

Rafal moved to the UK after a short holiday, finding life as a gay man much more open-minded than in his native Poland. However, his profound deafness meant he was unable to find the right support from councils and he soon became homeless. He was only able to begin rebuilding his life when one of the charities supported by the Guardian and Observer Christmas appeal helped him out.
