To Know Him is a new BSL Zone drama by Ted Evans, who also directed award winning short film The End, and is due to shoot Retreat, a feature length film with an all-deaf cast soon.

Starring Jemma Joyce, Hermi Berhane and Ged McKenna, To Know Him is simply and beautifully shot. It tells how Sarah, a deaf woman, is forced to track down and engage with her deaf partner Rob’s hearing father, who hasn’t seen him for many years, when Rob dies suddenly.

It was given a special preview at the recent See Hear Weekend, where it was very well received. See Hear’s William Mager said: “To Know Him was a beautiful story, beautifully and simply told, beautifully filmed, and just an amazing experience to watch on a big screen.  It was one of the best films I’ve seen in a while – and it felt like it transcended deaf filmmaking and became something that tells a universal story which anyone can relate to.”
