A Deaf online coach is to create a series of accessible workouts with fitness instructor Joe Wicks, it has been announced.

India Morse, owner of You Lean Me Up, entered The Body Coach’s search for three new personal trainers and made it to the final shortlist of 30 people.

In a post on Instagram on Thursday, Morse said: “I’ve been constantly attempting to break down barriers my whole life and it did leave me feeling rather disheartened that I didn’t make it to the final, I’ll be honest. Although, even though this door may have closed, another door has opened…

“But it absolutely isn’t the end and I’m left feeling honoured as Joe asked me if I want to create a series of accessible workouts with him for his YouTube channel.

“We will be having a meeting to take this further and I’m going to try my very best so that I make sure that everyone feels included in fitness,” she said.

Wicks, who has over 2.7 million subscribers on ‘The Body Coach TV’, went viral last year for his ‘PE with Joe’ YouTube series, which aimed to keep kids exercising while schools were closed due to the coronavirus.

“Just a little heads up. I want you to know I am going to have a Zoom chat with India and her interpreter to discuss India creating a series of workouts for deaf people on my YouTube channel.

“I think accessibility is so important and I’d love to see workouts on my channel for everyone – stay tuned,” said Wicks.

More information about the accessible workouts is yet to be announced.
