Nearly all Deaf people are bilingual to some degree, mixing between signed and spoken languages depending on the situation at hand. (sorry, bad pun)
The video also has some interesting (and important) information about the United Nation Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities that we should all be aware of.

I think sign language should be taught in mainstream schools. At least some basic words and phrases, plus ASL. It’s easier for a hearing person to sign than for a deaf person to speak, and there are other benefits to signing, too.
