Deaf media production company Remark Media has been short-listed in the ‘Best Pre-School Programme’ category at the 2014 Broadcast Awards for their programme Magic Hands – which features sign language poetry and is broadcast on the CBeebies channel.
The Broadcast Awards are the Oscars of the UK television world. They recognise high achievers in mainstream TV, and this is Remark’s first nomination at such a high-profile event.
Presenter Ashley Kendall, Series Producer Judith Bunting and Interpreter Simeon Klein were present at the nominations evening, where the shortlist was officially announced.
Magic Hands is a landmark series, as the first mainstream children’s programme in UK history to be presented in BSL.
The awards night is February 5 2014, and everyone involved in the programme will be hoping they take home the prize.
Good luck from the Limping Chicken team!
