The Derby Telegraph has reported:
THE Royal School for the Deaf Derby has been placed in special measures after it failed to implement safeguarding procedures highlighted in an earlier residential inspection.
As a result, the governing body is to undergo changes and a full review of the school’s leadership is being carried out.
The school, in Ashbourne Road, will also have an executive head following the suspension of the previous head teacher after the earlier inspection.
An inspection team from the Office for Standards in Education arrived at the school, which has 132 pupils, without notice.
