It is being widely reported in the news today that two Deaf sisters convicted of sexual abuse of a boy have been spared jail sentences because of their deafness.

Two evil sisters who sexually abused a boy when he was aged just six and then again when he was a teenager have been spared jail – because they are both DEAF.
Julie Fellows, 30, and her sister Jennifer, 32, targeted the youngster over a period spanning 14 years.
But a judge today went against guidelines and ruled that it wouldn’t be fair to jail the pair – who have never learnt to lip read – as they would not be able to communicate properly in prison and effectively mean they were in isolation.
He also cited the fact that sign language isn’t available in prison – and that one of the defendants was pregnant – as reasons not to jail the sick pair.
Both had previously been told to expect “very significant sentences” for their vile abuse.

Sorry if you think I’m hard, but I believe that if you can’t do the time don’t do the crime, particularly in cases of child abuse. Being deaf dosent stop you from knowing right from wrong….

I don’t think you’re being hard at all> I’ve often used that phrase when I’ve heard of criminals being spared jail for various pathetic “reasons”. I also totally agree with you that being deaf doesn’t stop you from knowing right from wrong. They committed a sickening act of sexual abuse on a child and therefore should have been jailed.

That is bollocks!! utter bollocks……the bloke I feel sad for might have been badly damaged by them two – so what becomes of his dignity? The law is an ass and so the judge is also an ass!! The legal framework need a review asap.

Being Deaf does not affect your intelligence or morality. You commit a crime so heinous, you get what’s coming to you. Being let off tells the world “Deaf = insanity plea” which is the last thing in the world we need.

Maybe these ‘super intelligent’ judges see things we humble creatures can’t, but in my eyes it is a disgusting decision. I feel for the victim and hope that some other way is found to punish these vile sisters, deaf or not.

Iam flabbergasted!!!! How the hell could this judge let off these women just because they are deaf?!?! They would be isolated?!? Well TOUGH!!! That is nothing compared to what that poor boy went through!!!
That judge is the biggest plonker I have ever read about!! The green light has been given to Deaf people: you can be a paedophile and you won’t go to jail because you are Deaf!!!!
