The dictionary type of definition as shown on the ai-media site is too superficial. Audism is not just discrimination in word and deed. But it is largely a matter of attitude and mentality that encompass the expectation that everyone hears (and speaks), a human being is perfect if he hears, being unable to hear is to be pitied or felt to be horrible and not safe or renders easily to accidents, unable to speak implies having some sort of diminished intelligence and abilities, etc. All discriminatory behaviors derive from this mentality,
