Another sketch from episode 3 of Deaf Funny has been released by BSL Zone on Facebook, gaining nearly 40,000 views in its first day of release.
The ‘Deaf Class’ sketch is inspired by the classic Class sketch starring John Cleese, Ronnie Corbett and Ronnie Barker.
In this one, three deaf men explain why they look down on one another. But there’s a twist at the end.
The sketch stars Nadeem Islam, John Smith, Will Lewis and Maisie Sly, and was written and directed by Charlie Swinbourne (who is also this site’s editor) and produced by Eyewitness Media and Wellington Films for BSL Zone.

Great! It makes a good point too.
A lot of the time, the snobs from any of the three groups will not even realise what they’re doing. It’s not entirely their fault, they’ve been groomed to think the way they do. Oppressors divide and rule their victims.
By the way, if the oral deaf guy identifies as Deaf, that’s his right, that’s self-determination and entirely a matter for him and not anybody else. Same goes for the SSE guy.

A more serious side is that if every person got together, whether oral, SSE or BSL the numbers of people effected by deafness shoots up and become a much more powerful force to fight for all our rights.
