DeafATW: Fill in the Access To Work cap survey 2019 (with BSL)

If you have Access to Work (ATW), please take this survey about the cap to ATW budgets now.  It is in BSL and English, and finishes Sunday 24th February 2019.  

For readers outside of the UK – Access to Work is a Government scheme that pays for some or all the access costs for deaf and disabled people at work.

You can do the survey if:

• You have a capped ATW budget.
• You were capped, but aren’t capped now.
• You have never been capped.  (I.e. anyone with ATW can do it).

What is the cap to ATW?

In October 2015 ATW put a cap (a maximum limit) on ATW awards.  

The cap was worked out as 1.5 x the National Average Salary (NAS), a statistic from the Office of National Statistics (ONS).  

In April 2018 the cap (maximum) was increased to 2 x the NAS.

If the NAS increases, then the ATW cap will also increase, usually from April.  E.g. if the NAS goes up by 3.5% then the cap will go up by approximately 3.5%.

What is the new cap?

The cap from April 2018 to March 2019 was £57,200.  The new cap from April 2019 to March 2020 will be £59,200.  This is an increase of just under 3.5%.
