Join Patagonia, Faith in Nature, 1% For the Planet, B Lab UK and hundreds of other purpose driven Businesses at Manchester Metropolitan University for the inaugural Better Business Summit in just a week’s time on Thursday 19th January.

Committed to making The Better Business Summit an event that is truly accessible, sustainable and impactful, there will be BSL interpreters during all main stage sessions.

To encourage business leaders in the Limping Chicken community to attend, the Better Business Summit is offering 50% off tickets using the code LIMPINGCHICKEN

Wanting accessibility support mainstreamed, the Summit is making genuine efforts to reach out to underrepresented communities to attend and have their opinions heard.

If you can’t attend the event in Manchester in two weeks, free access to filmed, subtitled and transcribed videos of the day will be accessible online following the event via the Better Business Network website (https://thebetterbusiness.network/

The Summit team has a genuine desire to reach the deaf community as after speaking to the Royal Association for Deaf People, the Limping Chicken and other accessibility charities became very aware of how unfortunately rare properly accessible events are. Their hope is to create free resources to help other Event Organisers prioritise accessibility in their event planning.

Other examples of how their impact policies that are trying to ensure the event is fair, transparent and accessible include:

  • Fully accessible to those with physical accessibility needs with free companion tickets available on request for carers
  • To reduce mobility concerns or any potential anxiety and stress, queue jumping is available for anyone who request this when you arrive.
  • Every member of staff working on or at the event is paid the real Living Wage and the event co-organiser betternotstop is a certified Living Wage Employer
  • Speaker line up aims to have a balanced representation.
  • A dedicated quiet room clearly marked at the venue to be used freely as attendees see fit
  • Financial transparency is central to the operations, sharing updated online on LinkedIn
  • They bank with Starling, who have one of the highest ethical rates for business banking
  • Pay it Forward Tickets
