It’s been revealed that the deaf contestant on this year’s Great British Bake Off is Tasha, who is 27 and from Bristol.

She’s the programme’s first deaf contestant and she’ll be hoping to follow in the footsteps of other deaf people who’ve reached prominence on TV shows such as Rose Ayling-Ellis, who won Strictly, and Tasha Ghouri, who was on Love Island.

The show will also feature her interpreter, Daryl.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), Tasha wrote:

The series starts on 26th September on Channel 4.
