Limping Chicken has partnered with Toy Like Me to find 70 new photos of deaf people with their jobs, to be part of a board game called ‘See it Be it’ for deaf children.
The aim is to show deaf children the range of jobs that deaf people can do, and show them that there are deaf lawyers, cleaners, scientists, teachers, shop workers, dog walkers and many more jobs!
If you are deaf and have a job, we need your photo – which can be a selfie taken on your mobile phone – to include in this game!
If you wear a uniform for your job, please wear it for your photo!
To be part of it, just email thelimpingchicken@gmail.com including your photo and tell us what your job is!
The project has been funded by a grant, and the board game will be given to around 1000 Teachers of the Deaf across the UK, so that as many deaf children as possible are able to play it! It will also be sold in the Toy Like Me non-profit Etsy shop to make it available to parents of deaf children.
If you take part, you’ll be asked to agree:
- Your photo, first name and job title can be included in the ‘SEE IT BE IT’ board game about deaf jobs, and may also be included on exhibition boards.
- That you understand the ‘SEE IT BE IT’ board game will be gifted to around 1000 teachers of deaf children across the UK
- That you understand that the ‘SEE IT BE IT’ boardgame may be sold in the Toy Like Me non-profit Etsy Shop to make It available to parents of deaf children
- You understand this is a grant funded non-profit project and you waive your right to any payment.
- You understand my image will be included in the project indefinitely.
Toy Like Me is a deaf-led UK based non-profit organisation celebrating disability representation in play and toys. They are entirely grant funded.
